PrimeKit Labs ~/labs
now shipping: Free PDF Editor 0.1

Small tools, engineered all the way down.

PrimeKit Labs builds native desktop software for documents and data. We read the spec, test against the strangest files we can find, and ship apps that work offline and stay out of your way.

products

Two apps, built the hard way.

Each one starts from the file format or the database protocol, not from a template. Here’s what’s on the bench.

Edit the PDF itself.

A native app that changes the text inside the file, in the font that’s already embedded in it, and saves everything you didn’t touch byte for byte.

how we work

Boring where it matters. Obsessive where it counts.

We would rather spend a week on a corner case than ship a feature that corrupts one file in a thousand. A few numbers that keep us honest:

0 B

of your files sent anywhere

Our apps work offline. Free PDF Editor’s only network request is a check for a new version.

182

hard files in the test corpus

Broken cross-reference tables, Type3 and CID fonts, encrypted and rotated PDFs. Each is saved, compared byte for byte, edited and checked again.

Ed25519

signed updates

Every update is verified against a key built into the app before a single file is replaced.

4

SQL dialects, one editor

Completion that knows the difference between PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and SQLite, because they really are different.
